Hosting about three writers per year, the Writers-in-Residence program invites guests ranging from former editors and established or freelance writers to Flagler alumni working in the English field.
“Over the past sixteen years, the Writers-in-Residence program has hosted such luminaries as Tim O'Brien, W.D. Snodgrass, Robert Olen Butler and others,” said Todd Lidh, English Department chair.
Staying for about a week, guests attend classes of English majors and hold discussions and workshops for aspiring writers and novelists. Writers-in-Residence also present a wide variety of works including fiction, non-fiction and poetry, giving students an overview of what career path they may want to pursue after graduation.
