A Welcome Statement from the SAM Flagler College
Chapter President-

Welcome! This year the SAM club at Flagler is looking to emphasize the goal of producing your "everyday manager". The most diligent way we know how to do this is getting involved within our campus and around our community by managing events. We feel that membership will be an emphasis this year as we hope to see the club grow immensely. In the fall we plan to have our annual Etiquette dinner, which is usually held in the spring. This year SAM is teaming up with Career Services to grow this event into a venue with a renowned guest and target the senior class. Some fundraisers that will be taking place will be a Madden 08' X-BOX 360 tournament followed by our second annual Ms. Flagler Pageant. A Habitat for Humanity workshop and a toy drive for the Boy's and Girl's Club of St. Augustine will both be a priority. The spring will be full of events including a number of guest speakers and business engagements wrapped up in our second annual business survival week. It will climax with a trip to Virginia for a group of our members to compete in the National Management Case Team Competition.

SAM is a great way to become involved while obtaining your higher education. If it is the only extra curricular activity you are involved with, you will stay busy. There are no obstacles to join the organization, you just have to be willing to work hard and work as a team. I joined SAM as a freshman at Flagler College and it has given me the opportunity to work my way up in an organization while at the same time gain numerous amounts of experience to put on my resume by managing different events. I wish you all the best and hope to see you at the next SAM meeting!

A Welcome Statement from the SAM Flagler College
Chapter Advisor-

Greetings! I welcome each of you into the oldest continuous business club on campus. Our club was formed in 1983 and chartered by the SAM International Headquarters January 1, 1984. Our charter members included 85 of Flagler College ’s finest students at a time when Flagler College ’s enrollment was quite a bit smaller than the approximately 2400 students today. Over the past years until today we have accomplished much – 7 national management case team championships, winners of a number of outstanding chapters in the nation, the outstanding new chapter in the nation, numerous outstanding SAM regional and national students in the nation, to name just a few of our achievements.

For our legacy to continue it is important that each member of the club participates in at least one activity. If every member of our team pulls together in the same direction with commitment and passion we can continue this tradition that our forefathers established. I look forward to an outstanding year and in meeting each one of you. I invite each of you to visit me in my office, after a SAM meeting or one of my classes. Together we can continue to make this club one that our College can be very proud of while giving each one of you the opportunity to put your management skills to the test.
