Professional Profile:

Dr. Warrenburg joined the Flagler faculty in 2009-2010.  While namely teaching Speech Communication, Kristine also has experience with such courses as Communication & Pop Culture, Media Ethics, Race & Rhetoric, Social Movement Rhetoric, Rhetorical Criticism, Argumentation, Reasoning, and Communication Theory.  Her research is driven by the problematic concerning the politics of difference.  Such politics – of race, class, and/or gender – resonate in the situational context of communication interaction and create opportunities to re-produce hierarchy and/or transformation.  She received her B.A. (Communication Arts & Sciences) from DePauw University, M.A. (History) from Butler University, and Ph.D. (Rhetoric & Communication Ethics) from University of Denver.  Publications include several argumentation conference proceedings and a co-authored article (with D. Hicks and R. Margesson) entitled “Political Reasonableness in Contemporary Argumentation Theory: A Content Analysis of the New York Times, 1860-2004,” found in Contemporary Argumentation and Debate, (2005) v. 26, p. 1-12.
