Saints tame Wildcats, 112-75

LAKELAND, Fla. - Bryan Borstelmann (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee HS) scored a career-high 29 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds to lead 22nd-ranked (NAIA Division II) Flagler College to a 112-75 rout of Johnson & Wales University of North Miami in the opening round of the Southeastern University Christmas Classic Friday night at the Sportsplex.
 
Kyle Cregan (New Port Richey, Fla./J.W. Mitchell HS) added 22 points, sinking 6-of-9 3-point field goal attempts and also tacked on five assists. Sam Jozenville (Orlando, Fla./Santa Fe CC) chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds for the Saints (7-3). Ben De La Cruz (Orlando, Fla./University HS) added 12 points and Bo Gooch (Apopka, Fla./Lake Brantley HS) chimed in with 11 points.
 
Flagler shot a season-high 59.7% (40-67) for the game, including shooting a blistering 60.7% from the floor in the second half. The Saints sank a season-high 15 3-point field goal attempts. The 112 points is also a season-high for Flagler.
 
Donzell Nugent and Brandon Partridge each tallied 15 points for Johnson & Wales (4-7). Terrell Ward added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats.
 
Flagler wraps up the tournament tomorrow against Wesley College of Jackson, Miss. The game tips at 4 p.m.
