Lady Saints collar Bulldogs, 83-65
 
DEMOREST, Ga. − Sarah Hately (Sydney, Australia/Westfields Sports HS) scored a game-high 19 points and also tacked on nine assists and seven rebounds to lead Flagler College to an 83-65 win over Texas Lutheran University of Seguin in the final contest of the Piedmont College Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center.
 
Jamie Allenbaugh (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Virginia Wesleyan College) added 16 points and nine rebounds for Flagler (4-3) and Meaggen Anderson (Inverness, Fla./Citrus HS) chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds. The Lady Saints snapped a three-game losing streak. Melissa Anthony (Coppell, Texas/SE Missouri State University) added 10 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots.
 
Flagler nearly led from tip to final buzzer, trailing in only the early moments of the game. The Lady Saints to control of the game with 10:20 left in the half as a jumper by Alicia Ramsdell (Wells, Maine/Wells HS) put Flagler up 18-6. The Lady Saints would lead by as many as 14 in the opening half and took an eight point (30-22) lead into the break. Flagler held Texas Lutheran to 18.1% shooting from the floor.
 
The Lady Saints scored 11 of the first 15 points in the second half to blow open the game 41-26. The Lady Saints would go on to lead by as many as 25 points late in the second half.
 
Sara Kainer led Texas Lutheran (0-2), an NCAA Division III school, with 18 points and eight rebounds. Amber Bone added 15 points before fouling out with nine seconds left to go in the game. Kristin Smith grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds coming off the bench.  
 
Neither team shot well from long range. Flagler went 0-for-10 and Texas Lutheran went 1-for-25. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Lady Saints 59-42 and grabbed 31 offensive boards. Caren Fiorillo (Meadville, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy) and Hately were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
 
Flagler hosts Georgia Southwestern University on Friday at 7 p.m.
