Tars down Lady Saints, 3-1

Whitney Jones recorded a match-high 15 kills to lead NCAA Division II Rollins College past Flagler College 3-1 (30-25, 30-22, 27-30, 30-16) in a n on-conference women’s volleyball match Saturday night at Warden Arena.
 
Allison North added 14 kills and Erin Kirkwood tacked on 12 more kills for Rollins (21-9). Lacey Malarky tallied 54 assists, five service aces and led the Tar defense with 11 digs.
 
Melissa Bear (Orange Park, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) led Flagler (19-12) with 12 kills and Elizabeth Layfield (Gainesville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) led the defense with a match-high 18 digs. Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. johns River CC) registered 23 assists for the Lady Saints.
 
Flagler will play for the regular season Florida Sun Conference crown Wednesday night at Savannah College of Art & Design. The match is at 7 p.m. and the winner not only receives the regular season title, but will also be the top seed at the NAIA Region XIV Tournament Nov. 11-12 at Flagler Gym.
