Lady Saints triumphs over Bees, 4-0

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Marissa McConihay (North Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens HS) scored a goal and assisted on three more to power Flagler College past the Savannah College of Art and Design 4-0 in a non-conference women’s soccer match Friday night at Saints Field.

McConihay assisted on the match’s first goal, feeding Jessica Potter (Ormond Beach, Fla./Seabreeze HS) who went on to chip the ball over SCAD’s keeper in the 27th minute. Megan Bundrick (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck HS) iced the game in the second half when she received a pass from McConihay and booted the ball that just had enough on it to slip through the keeper’s hands to put Flagler (13-3-0) up 2-0.

McConihay scored her 16th goal of the season later in the half when she converted a cross from Potter putting the Lady Saints up 3-0. Potter capped off the scoring with her 14th goal of the season when McConihay fed her a cross into the penalty box.

Kate Carver (Margate, Fla./Nova HS) notched her seventh shutout turning away six shots.

Lisa Gallant (Nashua, N.H.) tallied two saves for SCAD (8-6-1) who has already locked up the top seed in the upcoming NAIA Region XIV Tournament to be held in Savannah Nov. 4-5.
