Warriors down Saints in OT, again

BABSON PARK, Fla.— Once again regulation time would not determine a winner between Flagler College and Webber International University. Bjorn Asbjornsson scored an unassisted goal in the 94th minute to lead Webber International to a 3-2 win over Flagler in a Florida Sun Conference match Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field. Almost two weeks ago, WIU downed Flagler 2-1 in double overtime, at Saints Field.

Kiren Jones got Webber International (7-4, 5-3 Florida Sun) on the board first when he scored a goal off a pass from Lewis Ringham in the 43rd minute. The Warriors would stretch the lead to 2-0 when Jonaas Risberg found the back of the net off a feed from Kristoffer Ejebro in the 61st minute.

Rob Goosens (West Palm Beach, Fla./King’s Academy) got Flagler (4-9, 3-5) on the board with his first goal of the season off a pass from Jason Cascio (Sebastian, Fla./Sebastian River HS) in the 66th minute. Sean Gormley (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee HS) scored the equalizer in the 79th minute and neither team could add to the score until the first overtime session.

Renford Barnes tallied seven saves for WIU. Jordan Holtz (Clermont, Fla./South Lake HS) recorded six saves for the Saints.

The Warriors out-shot the Saints 19-9 and held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Flagler will travel to Miami Gardens on Friday for a 4 p.m. Florida Sun Conference match against St. Thomas University.
