Lady Saints ground Seahawks, 2-0

Caitlin Eggimann (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) scored the eventual game winning goal in the 68th minute as she headed the ball into the goal to lead Flagler College to a 2-0 win over Northwood University in a Florida Sun Conference women’s soccer match at Saints Field.

Eggimann scored from just in front of the goal box as she headed a ball that was directed to her by Marissa McConihay (North Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens HS). Nicole Raymond (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run HS) made the initial play on the ball when she crossed the ball in from the left to McConihay.

Jessica Potter (Ormond Beach, Fla./Seabreeze HS) netted an insurance goal in the 79th minute as she socked in a goal from 25 yards out, beating the keeper to the right.

Kate Carver (Margate, Fla./Nova HS) notched her fifth shutout of the season for Flagler (8-3-0, 2-2-0 Florida Sun).

Northwood University falls to 5-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.

Flagler hosts Warner Southern College Oct. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Saints Field. All the proceeds from the match will go to the Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund.
