Lady Saints tame Lady Lions, 3-0

OPA LOCKA, Fla. | The Flagler College Lady Saints volleyball team swept Florida Memorial University 3-0 (30-23, 30-25, 30-14) in a Florida Sun Conference womenfs volleyball match at the A. Chester Robinson Center Friday night.

Holli Strompolis (Neenah, Wisc./Neenah HS) led a balanced Flagler (7-4, 3-0 Florida Sun) offensive attack with nine kills. Shelly Jencik (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS) paced the defense with 13 digs. Lizzie Gomez (Cooper City, Fla./Cooper City HS) and Liz Layfield (Gainesville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) each recorded 12 digs. Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. Johns River CC) tallied 28 assists and Sarah Spraggins (Jacksonville, Fla./Fletcher HS) served up three aces.

Florida Memorial (0-3, 0-3) still has not won a match this season.

Flagler will take on St. Thomas University in a noon match tomorrow at Miami Gardens.
