Lady Saints sweep Bobcats, 3-0
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. | The Flagler College Lady Saints volleyball team swept St. Thomas University 3-0 (30-19, 30-18, 30-20) in a Florida Sun Conference womenfs volleyball match at the Barbara Goleman High School Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
Liz Layfield (Gainesville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) recorded a tam-high 12 kills and also served up four aces and led Flaglerfs (8-4, 4-0 Florida Sun) defense with 14 digs. Jessica Pate (Green Cove Springs, Fla./Clay HS) added six kills. Katie Pommier (Crescent City, Ill./Crescent Iroquois HS) tallied 19 assists and Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. Johns River CC) added 13 assists.
St. Thomas (0-3, 0-2) remains in search of its first victory.
Flagler will take on NCAA Division II provisional member Palm Beach Atlantic University Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in West Palm Beach. The Lady Saints will remain in West Palm for the Sailfish Classic over the weekend.
