Lady Saints shutout Eagles, 2-0

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Jessica Echterling (Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary HS) put 21st-ranked Flagler College on the board in the 54th minute when she split the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University defense in a 2-0 non-conference womenfs soccer victory Sunday night at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Complex.

Caitlin Eggimann (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) added an insurance goal for Flagler (6-1) just 23 minutes later as she crossed a high kick from the right side of the field that eluded the Eagle keeper. Kate Carver (Margate, Fla./Nova HS) notched her third consecutive shutout of the season, saving both shots that were on goal.

Stephanie Taylor tallied three saves for Embry-Riddle (2-3).

The Lady Saints out-shot the Eagles 9-5, but the Eagles held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
