Lady Saints blank Panthers, 2-0

MELBOURNE, Fla. | Kelley Lynch (Somers, Conn./Somers HS) followed up a deflection in front of the goal box and booted the ball in to put Flagler College ahead in the 34th minute as the Lady Saints went on for a 2-0 win over Florida Tech on a rainy Tuesday afternoon womenfs soccer match at Stottler Field.

Marissa McConihay (North Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Gardens HS) scored her fifth goal of the season in the 72nd minute to give Flagler (4-1) some insurance and its third consecutive victory. McConihay scored the goal off a rebound from a free kick. Kate Carver (Margate, Fla./Nova HS) recorded her first shutout of the season, tallying two saves on the afternoon.

Erica Wales saved two shots for Florida Tech (2-1).

Flagler opens its conference slate on Friday when they travel to Lake Wales to take on Warner Southern College in 4:30 kickoff.
