Lady Saints blank Panthers, 3-0
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Liz Moyer (Moore, S.C./Spartanburg HS) led a blanced scoring attack with eight kills to lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (30-24, 30-20, 30-24) win over NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan College in the opening round of the Daytona Beach Blast Friday afternoon.
Shelly Jencik (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS) added six kills and eight digs for Flagler (3-2). Lizzie Gomez (Cooper City, Fla./Cooper City HS) led the Lady Saints defense with 13 digs and Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. Johns River CC) tallied 14 assists, splitting time with Katie Pommier (Crescent City, Ill./Crescent Iroquois HS) who registered 13 assists. Jessica Wedemyer (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh HS) recorded five service aces in the match.
Kentucky Wesleyan fell to 0-3.
