Broncos down Lady Saints, 3-0
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Celeste Bauer and Sarah Davis recorded 13 and 12 kills, respectively, to lead Hastings College to a 3-0 (31-29, 30-13, 30-13) win over Flagler College in a pool play at the Daytona Beach Blast Friday afternoon.
Jacqui Smith paced a balanced Hastings (6-1) defense with 10 digs and Davis and Tina Dimmitt both collected six total blocks apiece. Marie Hunnicutt added 23 assists and Lindsay Evans tallied 22 more as the starting setter.
Shelly Jencik (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS) led Flagler (3-3) with a match-high 14 kills. She also tallied 11 digs. Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heighhts, Fla./St. Johns River CC) registered 24 assists and Lizzie Gomez (Cooper City, Fla./Cooper City HS) recorded 11 digs.
