Lady Saints roll past Lady Scots, 3-0
MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — Elizabeth Layfield (Gainesville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonvillle) and Liz Moyer (Moore, S.C./Spartanburg HS) led a balanced attack with eight kills apiece in Flagler College’s 3-0 win over Covenant College in a non-conference women’s volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Ford Gym.
Layfield and Sarah Spraggins (Jacksonville, Fla./Fletcher HS) led the Flagler (2-0) defense with nine digs each. Katie Pommier (Crescent City, Ill./Crescent Iroquois HS) tallied 20 assists while Carrie Arnette (Keystone Heights, Fla./St. Johns River CC) added 19 more for the Lady Saints.
Kate Hampson totaled seven kills for Covenant (0-1). Val March recorded a match-high 13 digs for the Lady Scots.
Flagler will travel to Savannah, Ga., for a Tuesday night match at Armstrong Atlantic State University. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
