Tars blank Lady Saints, 1-0

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Ashley Hunsberger’s (New Britain, Pa.) goal in the 56th minute proved to be all the offense Rollins College would need in a 1-0 non-conference women’s soccer victory over Flagler College Saturday night at Saints Field.

Hunsberger booted the ball into the back of the net off Jeri Ostuw’s corner kick from the right for Rollins (1-0). Tars goalkeeper Francesca Nicoloso (Tallahassee, Fla.) tallied five saves in picking up the shutout.

Flagler’s (1-1) best scoring opportunity came when Jessica Potter (Ormond Beach, Fla./Seabreeze HS) took a penalty kick in the 68th minute, but her shot went wide left. Potter led the Lady Saints with three shots on the evening.

Flagler will travel to Saint Leo University on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. match. The Lady Saints play their next home match Sept. 4 when they host Mount Olive College at 2 p.m.
