Lady Royals hold off Lady Saints, 72-64
 
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Lenise Evans scored 26 points and Ashley Benjamin added 20 more as Warner Southern College held off Flagler College 72-64 in a Florida Sun Conference women’s basketball game Saturday night at Flagler Gym.
 
Benjamin sank a 3-pointer to give Warner Southern (9-12, 2-1 Florida Sun) its biggest lead, 52-32, with 17:02 remaining in the game. The Lady Royals went without a point over the next six minutes and the Lady Saints capitalized by going on a 16-0 run after a put back by Meaggen Anderson (Inverness, Fla./Citrus HS) with 11:24 to go making the score 52-48.
 
The Lady Saints would get as close as two points two more times, the last with 2:46 left, but could get no closer. The Lady Royals would score the last six points in the final two and a half minutes.
 
Karyna Cid added 11 points for the Lady Royals.
 
Jamie Allenbaugh (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Virginia Wesleyan College/Upper St. Clair HS) scored a season-high 29 points and also grabbed nine rebounds for Flagler (9-11, 1-2). Brittney Garmon (St. Augustine, Fla./St. Augustine HS) added 17 points and 11 rebounds while Anderson grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds.
 
Flagler travels to Babson Park on Jan. 25 for a Florida Sun Conference game at Webber International University at 5 p.m. Warner Southern hosts Florida Memorial University on Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.
