No. 20 Saints ground Falcons 102-68

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Bo Gooch (Apopka, Fla./Lake Brantley HS) led seven Saints in double figures with a career-high 17 points in leading 20th-ranked (NAIA Division II) Flagler College to a 102-68 win over Florida College of Temple Terrace in a non-conference men’s basketball game Monday night at Flagler Gym. All but two Flagler players scored at least two points.
 
Gooch scored 12 of his team-high 17 points in the second half for Flagler (12-5). Lee Wise (Rockledge, Fla./Brevard Christian School) added a season-high 14 points and dished out five assists coming off the bench. Flagler out-scored Florida College 58-7 I bench points. Sam Jozenville (Orlando, Fla./Santa Fe CC) chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Bryan Borstelmann (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee HS) and Jon Matthews (Daytona Beach, Fla./Atlantic HS) each tallied 11 points.
 
Ahead 26-24 with 7:09 left in the half, Ben De La Cruz (Orlando, Fla./University HS), who led the Saints with a game-high 13 rebounds, hit a pair of free throws that started a 21-3 run to close out the first half and give the Saints a 47-27 advantage at the break. A layup by Gooch with 1:27 gave Flagler its largest lead of the game, 39 points (102-63).
 
Jonathan Fox led all scorers with 19 points for Florida College (3-12). The Falcons now extend their losing streak to nine games. Stanley Kelley and Adam Thompson each added 15 points. Kelley grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Tommy Nichols chipped in with 11 points.
 
Flagler College returns to Florida Sun Conference action on Wednesday with a key match up at Florida Memorial University at 7 p.m. in Opa Locka.
