Lady Saints march past Lady Wildcats, 84-62
 
NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - Meaggen Anderson (Inverness, Fla./Citrus HS) poured in a game-high 26 points and added nine rebounds in leading Flagler College to an 84-62 win over Johnson & Wales University in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Miami Country Day School Gym.
 
Flagler (7-9) grabbed 63 rebounds in the game, including 21 offensive boards. Jamie Allenbaugh (Pittsburgh, Pa./West Virginia Wesleyan College) added 21 points, 13 rebounds and also dished out four assists for the Lady Saints. Brittney Garmon (St. Augustine, Fla./St. Augustine HS) chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Alicia Ramsdell (Wells, Maine/Wells HS) tacked on 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. Caren Fiorillo (Meadville, Pa./Northwest Pa. Collegiate Acad.) tallied 12 rebounds and a game-high six assists.
 
A pair of 3-pointers by Johnson & Wales’ Robin Swaby and Precious Lippett, cut Flagler’s lead down to 10 points (68-58) with 4:52 remaining in the game. The Lady Saints would close out the game on a 16-4 run led by eight points from Anderson and five points from Allenbaugh.
 
Maria Luis led Johnson & Wales (2-6) with a team-high 23 points and also dished out four assists. LaQueda Smith grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and blocked three shots for the Lady Wildcats. Ebony Woods also added 13 boards and seven points before fouling out.
 
Flagler will open Florida Sun Conference play Wednesday afternoon at Florida Memorial University in Opa Locka. The tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
