The Flagler College Enactus team was selected as a top finalist in the Sam’s Club Step Up for Small Business Project Partnership.
Through this grant-funded program from the Sam’s Club Giving Program, the student-led Enactus team helped create Soapy Tales, a company founded with eight young men from St. Augustine Youth Services. Soapy Tales creates all-natural, hand made, soap that doesn’t just get you clean but also gives you an insight into its creator, with their story imprinted on the tag.
At a recent ceremony, the company was presented with a plaque as well as a $2,000 cash prize for being selected as a Step Up for Small Business Finalist.
Out of 100 Enactus teams participating in the program only 10 were selected to receive cash awards.
Enactus is an international nonprofit organization active on more than 1,500 university campuses in 39 countries. Enactus teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that focus on market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial skills and business ethics.
Members of Enactus and Soapy Tales are presented with the Sam's Club award.
