Flagler students and faculty will take center stage on March 8 when representatives from universities nationwide flock to campus for the annual meeting of the Florida Political Science Association.

“Having the Florida Political Science Association Annual Meeting at Flagler provides a great opportunity to showcase our campus and the strength of our political scientists and students,” said Will Miller, Director
of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Flagler. “Through a series of student panels, Flagler will be able to demonstrate the high quality, undergraduate education that we are known for along with why we continually place students into competitive graduate programs.”

Five undergraduate students, Donn Garby, Jonathan Hermes, David Arreola, Morgan Reed and Matthew Minton will present original research at the conference along with Flagler alumni Hannah Ferris and Alex Furbee.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for all of them - not simply to engage in the academic research process, but also to present their work to academics in their field,” said Associate Professor Rachel Cremona.

Miller and Cremona, as well as Flagler professors Brenda Kauffman and Joe Saviak will also be presenting at the conference.

The daylong conference will also feature visiting scholars from dozens of institutions such as Boston College, Cornell University and Florida State University.

The Florida Political Science Association is a group committed to promoting political science research, education, and service throughout the state of Florida.
