Dec. 14, 2013

The entire Flagler College community is saddened to learn of the tragic death of student Haven Shonio, who was killed in a car accident Friday morning on I-295 near Jacksonville. Haven, 19, was a freshman and had just completed her first semester at Flagler.‬

According to the Florida Highway Patrol media report, two other Flagler students were injured in the accident: Karen Gregory, 19, of Ponte Vedra Beach, was admitted to Baptist South Hospital, and her condition is serious; and Melissa Martinez, 19, of Jacksonville, was admitted to Shands Hospital, and her condition is serious.

I encourage all members of the Flagler College community to keep these students and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
