Flagler mourns passing of student

Flagler College mourns the loss of student Timothy John Hruz, 52, who passed away in a motorcycle accident on June 23.

He was a native of Alexandria, Va., and had served in several branches of the U.S. military. He was a beloved son, brother and father and was working on completing his bachelor’s degree at Flagler College.

During his years in the military, he traveled extensively. He enjoyed working on helicopters, vehicles and motorcycles. He was also a licensed real estate broker and was very active at Good News Church.

Survivors include his daughter Gabriella E. Hruz, mother Juanita Hruz, brother Stanley Hruz and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Service at Good News Church at 6 p.m. June 27 followed by a potluck dinner. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. June 28 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
