The Gargoyle, Flagler College’s online student newspaper, has won two awards in the 2013 Florida College Press Association “Best Under the Sun” contest.

The Gargoyle took first place in Feature Photo with a piece by Sarah Williamson. Ryan Buffa took third place in News Story – Non-weekly.

"Both of our awards came in categories where the other winners were from newspapers at huge state schools. So that says a lot about the quality of journalism taking place here at Flagler, and of course with our students,” said Gargoyle adviser Brian Thompson.

The Florida College Press Association has 13 member newspapers that range from small private colleges to larger public universities, including the University of Miami, The University of Central Florida, Florida Atlantic University, Eckerd College and others.
