Feb. 12, 2013
Flagler College has released the 2013-2014 academic calendar, which features several changes including an extended orientation for first year students.
Each semester has been extended one week and the fall 2013 semester will begin on Aug. 29. The spring 2014 semester begins Jan. 14.
In addition, the Friday prior to Finals Week will now be a Reading Day when no classes are to be held. This day is designed to be used as a study day in preparation for final exams.
“These changes to the calendar have come after a great deal of thought and planning by the faculty and administration,” said Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Yvan Kelly in a statement. “Initially proposed by the faculty through the academic strategic plan, the goal of these changes is to provide enhanced opportunities for student learning and success.”
