Flagler’s Home Team will join the St. John’s Housing Partnership on Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Make A Difference Day, a day of community service.
“Make A Difference Day really defines the word ‘community,’” said Colby Eaton, a senior communications major at Flagler and president of Home Team. “Knowing that we can impact a family just by building a ramp or fixing a porch, that’s the best part. What else could be better on a beautiful, fall Saturday?”
Home Team is a community service club at Flagler College whose mission is to serve St. Augustine through various projects like blanket collections for the homeless, nursing home visits, and food drives.
Flagler student volunteers will join the general public for a day of painting, porch and fence repairs, yard clean up, landscaping, and other general home repairs.
Flagler volunteers should meet in the Kenan Hall/Ponce De Leon parking lot of Flagler College at 7:15 a.m. on Oct. 27.
A complimentary breakfast will be served to all volunteers at the Evelyn Hamblen Center, 1 Christopher St., St. Augustine, at 8 a.m. before heading to the project sites. Lunch will be served on-site.
