On April 6, Flagler College, the Council on Aging and the St. Augustine Art Association are pleased to present a one-night exhibition entitled The Buddy System.
This exhibition is the culmination of months worth of collaboration between Flagler College art students and clients from the Council on Aging (COA) at the Coastal Community Center in St. Augustine. Students and COA clients paired up and then got to know one another by maintaining weekly visits throughout the semester. Over the course of this period, a variety of relationships emerged. Almost all of these pairs found mutual respect and a strengthened intergenerational understanding of what it is to be human.
The works to be displayed on April 6, during first Friday Art Walk, are experiences created with the viewer in mind, so that each visitor can get a glimpse into the unique and evolving relationship of each pair of buddies.
These collaborative relational artworks will be exhibited from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 6 at the St. Augustine Art Association located at 22 Marine Street in St. Augustine. For further information, please contact Flagler College Associate Professor Leslie Robison: (904) 819-6375 or email@example.com.
