Construction is underway on Pollard Hall, the first academic building Flagler College has built since the Proctor Library in 1996. In fact, Pollard Hall will be the first dedicated classroom building Flagler has ever constructed.

The multi-purpose academic building will house the college's Communication Department, including a television studio. Pollard Hall will have 18,600 square feet of space for eight classrooms, faculty offices, the TV studio and a commons area for students to meet, study and do work.

The building includes three distinct two-story buildings that will all be connected by a single story building.

Pollard Hall is replacing the college's communication building at 31 Cordova St. It is anticipated that construction of the new classroom building will be completed by the summer of 2014.

Nelson Pollard provided the major gift for the construction of the new academic building, which will bear his family name. His brother, Lewis Pollard, is a member of the Flagler College Board of Trustees and has served as a board member since 1999.
