Flagler College will hold its spring commencement ceremony Saturday, April 20, for graduating seniors. Approximately 414 students will receive diplomas at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
The commencement speaker will be Carol Melton, executive vice president of global public policy for Time Warner, Inc.
Melton is a member of Time Warner’s senior management team and oversees its worldwide public policy activities, including policy offices in Washington, London, Brussels, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires. As chief policy strategist and advocate,
she works across Time Warner’s business units of Home Box Office, Time Inc., Turner Broadcasting System and Warner Bros. Entertainment on issues connected to their domestic and international operations.
Melton earned a B.A. degree from Wake Forest University, an M.A. in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida, and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University.
Melton is the daughter of the Honorable Judge Howell W. Melton, who currently serves on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and is a Trustee Emeritus of Flagler College.
Commencement begins at 9 a.m. and is not open to the public.
The Flagler College Public Administration program will graduate 23 seniors in a second ceremony on April 27 at 4 p.m. in the Flagler College Auditorium.
The Public Administration Program at Flagler College is designed specifically to meet the educational and career objectives of public sector professionals and includes courses such as management, program evaluation, public budgeting, human resources, administrative ethics, public policy and grant writing.
