Flagler College’s Director of Academic Advising and Retention, Skeeter Key, is excited for the opportunity to do something most people would shy away from: kissing a pig at the Sunrise Rotary Club’s Rhythm ‘n’ Ribs Festival on April 6.

Key is one of the final candidates for the festival’s Kiss The Pig contest, an annual fundraiser for Learn to Read of St. John’s County, a program serving adults in St. John’s County who are interested in improving their reading, writing and learning skills.

“As a school principal, I saw the need many times for parents of my students to learn to read or read better,” Key says. “I would love for Flagler to get involved so I can kiss the pig—while we raise some money for this great organization.”

Votes for Key will be cast via donations with one vote for every dollar donated.

Those wishing to donate can drop off their change to the bucket at Career Services, or mail a check to Learn to Read of St. John’s County, 70 S. Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
