Flagler College announces Kahler awards

Flagler College has announced that it has awarded two 2013 Kahler Awards for Teaching of the Liberal Arts.

A $5,000 award will be granted to religion professor Tim Johnson for his project “Place, Worship, and the Construction of Identity in Thirteenth-Century Franciscan Textual-Liturgical Communities.”  The award will be utilized to support research, writing, translating and dissemination of the results of his project. 

A $2,500 award will be given to associate professor of psychology Emily Splane to support the completion of her co-authored book, “Psychology of Eating: From Biology to Culture to Policy.”
