Alumni magazine wins MarCom Award

Flagler College Magazine has won a platinum award in the 2011 MarCom Awards competition.

Flagler College Magazine won a platinum award in the 2011 MarCom Awards competition, marking the third year in a row the alumni magazine has come away with an award in the competition.

The MarCom Awards recognize achievement by marketing and communication professionals throughout the country including colleges and universities, Fortune 500 companies, marketing and advertising firms, and non-profit organizations. There were over 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in the 2011 competition.

“We put a lot of work into producing the magazine and telling the stories of Flagler's students, alumni and faculty/staff,” said the magazine’s editor, Brian Thompson. “So it's rewarding to see the magazine recognized this way, especially in a category with so many large and well-known schools.”

The publication won in the magazine/educational category, and other platinum award winners were Adelphi University, Atlanta Technical College, Carnegie Mellon University, Chapman University, Columbia College, Gaylord College at the University of Oklahoma, Grant MacEwan University (Canada), La Sierra University, Ohio Dominican University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, College of Education at Ohio State University, University of Kansas School of Business, University of Notre Dame-Mendoza College, University of Phoenix, Washington and Jefferson College.

Flagler College Magazine has a circulation of 20,000 and primarily goes out to the college's 12,000 alumni and other supporters. Check it out at flaglermagazine.com.
