The Flagler College Political Guild will host former NFL coach Francis Marion Campbell when he presents "Growth and Development of the NFL Player" on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Virginia Room of the Ringhaver Student Center, 50 Sevilla St.

Campbell will discuss how football players develop and progress through each level of their career, eventually landing a contract with the NFL.

Campbell was a defensive end for the University of Georgia and was drafted in 1952 by the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the 49ers from 1954-1955 and played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1956 – 1961. During this period, he appeared in two Pro Bowl games and was elected All-Pro in 1960.

Campbell was the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1977-1985, and served as head coach from 1983-1985. In addition, he was head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 1974-1976 and 1987- 1989.

The Flagler College Political Guild is a student club at Flagler consisting of a mixture of students from many different backgrounds and political views. The members of the club are aligned with both Democrats and Republicans. The club works to bring awareness of politics and political issues to the College, raise money for charities and bring more political discussions to the Flagler community.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
