Flagler's technology director promoted to vice president
Flagler College’s Joseph Provenza was recently promoted to the position of Vice President of Technology Services and Chief Information Officer. He was formerly the Director of Technology Services.
“Joe does a superb job planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of technology services at Flagler,” President Dr. William T. Abare, Jr., said. “He has assembled an outstanding team of professionals who provide a wide array of services to the entire Flagler College community. He’s one of the most respected and valued members of the leadership team.”
Provenza joined Flagler in 2000, after serving in various technology-related senior management positions, mostly in the banking industry. He has a combined 33 years of experience in banking and higher education. Since starting at Flagler, he has led the college through several technological advancements, including the implementation of online camera and card-based systems, the MyFlagler information portal, online learning management systems and data analytics systems for student success and retention.
Provenza attended Flagler from 1979 to 1981, and graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Management in 1983.
