Flagler student receives UPS scholarship
Flagler College sophomore student Sanad El-Farhan was awarded a $2,750 UPS Scholarship for the second year in a row by the Florida Independent College Fund and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). El-Farhan is from St. Augustine and is majoring in Business Administration.
Nationally, CIC and the UPS Foundation provided more than $1.5 million in student scholarships to make private colleges and universities more affordable and accessible to underserved students. This year, the Florida Independent College Fund awarded $82,500 in CIC/UPS Scholarships to 30 deserving students at private institutions across Florida.
“All Floridians deserve access to affordable, high-quality higher education regardless of their background,” said Dr. Ed Moore, president of the Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida (ICUF). “ICUF and Flagler College are proud to partner with CIC and the UPS Foundation to make access easier for students throughout Florida.”
CIC has worked since 1956 to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance public understanding of private higher education’s contributions to society. The Council is headquartered in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit www.cic.edu.
