Former Jacksonville Jaguar Kyle Brady was the keynote speaker Thursday night at the annual Crimson & Gold Banquet at Flagler College's elegant dining hall and on Friday, more funds were raised at the President's Golf Classic held at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley Course. In total, approximately $120,000 was raised to support Flagler Athletics.

"We are extremely thankful to all who were involved in helping make a difference in the lives of our young men and women," said Flagler College Director of Athletics Jud Damon. "Without scholarships, we can't attract high quality student-athletes and without them we're not able to compete nationally at the level that we do in the NCAA Division II."

Brady, who played 13 seasons in the National Football League, spoke on the life lessons he received from his professional coaches - Bill Parcells, Tom Coughlin and Bill Belichick – as well as his collegiate coach, Joe Paterno, at Penn State.

The President's Golf Classic saw beautiful weather with temperatures in the mid-80's at TPC Sawgrass. The Abare Cup was up for grabs with many foursomes competing for the valued trophy. Following the event, Flagler golfers Spencer Schindler and Mary Rodgers spoke to the competitors at the awards banquet and commented on how important the money raised here are to the many student-athletes at Flagler.

The Department of Athletics would like to thank Flagler College, the countless people it took to put together and run the Crimson & Gold Banquet, as well as Bill Hughes and everyone at TPC Sawgrass for another great President's Golf Classic.

This year's Crimson & Gold sponsors included: Ameris Bank, The Magnolia Foundation (Wes Jennison); St. Augustine Alligator Farm; Marsh Partners, LLC (Jim Babcock).
