Fall 2016 Performance Schedule

God of Carnage

Presented by special permission of Dramatists Play Service

Oct. 26-29 at 7:30PM and Oct. 30 at 2PM

Winner of the 2009 Tony Award, this farce demonstrates the disintegration of the social “masks” we wear, revealing our primitive nature. Exploring the theme of “over” vs. “under” involved parenting of children in our society, two couples meet after a confrontation between their sons. Despite attempting to maintain a measure of decorum and civility, the action devolves into chaos and mayhem, revealing the raw truth of our humanity.

The Maids (For mature audiences only)

By playwright, Jean Genet, translation by Andrew Upton and Benedict Andrews

Nov. 10-12 at 7:30PM and Nov. 12 at 2PM

Location: Fall 2nd Stage (Seating is extremely limited; advanced ticket purchase is highly recommended)

This dark play by Jean Genet features two maids who are sisters, Solange and Claire, engaged in sado-­‐ masochistic exercises, with each taking a turn in acting the role of “Madame” in an exploration of class, power, and domination. Mature audiences only.

Theatre Arts seniors present their capstone projects prior to graduation in which they are responsible for direction, design and execution of their individual projects.

Spring 2017 Performance Schedule

A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum

Book by Mark Shevelove & Larry Gelbart; Music by Stephen Sondheim

Presented by special permission of Music Theatre International

March 8-11, 2017 at 7PM and March 12 at 2PM

A “comedy tonight”! This 1962 Tony Award winning musical, inspired by the comedies of Roman playwright Plautus, features the classic comic gags that entertain all audiences. The “boy wants to get the girl next door with the help of his trusty and clever servant” plot is filled with mistaken identity, puns, chase scenes, and tons of physical comedy, all tied together with Sondheim’s delightful score.
