Flagler College acquired the former Florida East Coast Railway headquarters in 2006, when the company moved its main branch to Jacksonville. Opening in fall 2008, two buildings serve as student dormitories; the third is college offices.
Florida East Coast Industries donated about 40 percent of the cost of the buildings, which share some history with Flagler College’s campus. Henry Flagler built the Florida East Coast Railway primarily to bring northern guests to his southern resorts, such as the former hotel now used as Ponce Hall.
