Subject Directories: Library

Many university libraries review, collect, and organize material into subject guides so it may be more easily found and used for research. Below are two examples.

Research Resources page

These highlight the most important sources in an academic discipline.

They provide links to online sites in a subject.

The material selected for inclusion has been reviewed and evaluated by librarians and is usually annotated.

Other excellent library subject directories:  AcademicInfo.net, Librarians' Internet Index (lli.org), and Social Science Information Gateway (sosig.ac.uk), the Internet Public Library (ipl.org), and the Library of Congress (www.loc.gov).
