How to Use News@Nature.com

News@Nature.com is a valuable resource to use when is time to locate high quality articles on a variety of scientific issues and topics. News@Nature.com provides daily updates of news and features from Nature, the international scientific journal. This database also offers conference news and a searchable archive of all Nature News.

1. Begin by accessing the main database page from the Library homepage and select the "Articles & Databases" link:

2. Choose News@Nature.com from the alphabetical list of databases:

3. The opening page for News@Nature.com appears in the following screen shot. Use the search function to search the news archive. Wrap your keywords in quotes, for example, "energy independence", to search for an exact phrase:

On the results screen, take note of: 1) the ability to perform an "Advanced search" (see #5 below) to search beyond simple keywords; 2) the sorting function to allow you to see articles in the order that they were most recently published; and 3) links to the full text or PDF versions of the articles or news stories:

5. The Advanced Search function seen below offers expanded search capabilities, such as: 1) keyword anywhere and keywords as an exact phrase; 2) search by author; 3) search keywords within title; 4) search by particular issue; 5) search articles within a particular date range:
