Business & Company Resource Center is a fully integrated resource bringing together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, industry profiles, chronologies and periodicals. This guide provides an overview of its use.

1. Begin by accessing the main database page from the Library homepage by selecting the "Articles & Databases" link:

2. Choose Business & Company Resource Center (BCRC) from the alphabetical list of databases:

3. The main search page for BCRC appears in the screenshot below. Enter in a search term in the box for a company or industry and use the drop down menu to specify the type of search. Note that the icons below the search box provide for more advanced searching features:

4. As an example, let's say you want to find information on the airlines industry. Run the search in the following manner:

5. The next screenshot reveals that there are no results for an Industry Description Search on "airlines". This is a very important example to illustrate that within BCRC, industry searches correspond to the SIC and NAICS codes generated by the federal government. Use the links provided above to find the appropriate terms for SIC and NAICS industry names. For example, the airline industry would be searched under its NAICS code "scheduled passenger air transportation." See the screenshot in #6 for an example.

7. The results follow in the next screenshot. Select the link for the industry to access the industry profile and report:

8. On the next screen, select from the list of industry profiles:

9. The industry report will appear on the next screen. From the top left and moving clockwise, please note the following: 1) the ability to print or e-mail the report; 2) tabs at the top which allow you to access further industry information such as Company Proofiles, News/Magazine articles, Rankings, Associations, and Market Research; 3) and the report itself under the heading "Industry Snapshot":

10. Searching for information on a company is a straightforward process. Enter in the name of the company, select "Company Search", and hit the search button:

11. Select the specific company from the list of results:

12. The company profile will appear on the next screen. From the top left and moving clockwise, please note the following: 1) the ability to print or e-mail the profile; 2) tabs at the top which allow you to access further information on the company such as News/Magazines articles, Company Histories, Investment Reports, Financials, Rankings, Products, the Industry Overview (seen previously), and Associations; 3) also note articles about the company appear in the links on the left, broken down into subject categories:
