How to Use Article Linker, 360 Link

When searching most databases, you have the option to check a box to limit searches to "Full text" articles only. This will program the database to return only articles that are available in full text form. If you do not limit searches to full text articles only, then you may get results back for which only the citation and abstract exist, and not the full text. However, you will usually see a link with these articles named "Article Linker" or "360 Link". Selecting either of these links will search all of the other Library databases for the full text of that exact same article. This tutorial illustrates an example of this process.

4. To access the article in full text format, simply click on the link for Article Linker or 360 Link and the article will be searched in the other Library databases. Using the first article example from Academic Search Premier, the next screen after pressing the "Article linker" link will look like the screen below. You will know immediately if the article is available through another database:

5. Follow the directions by selecting the "Article" link to access the article through another database. The full text will appear in the next screen:
