Dr. Beverly Carmichael '72
Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Dr. Beverly Copeland Carmichael, graduate of the first graduating class of 1972, returned to the College August 2013 bringing with her extensive experience in higher education and fundraising. She had served as Assistant Chancellor for University Advancement at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay since 2010, and prior to that was partner and fundraising counsel for The Winston Group, a successful fundraising consultant firm in Green Bay. She was the first Director of Development for Flagler College from 1986 – 1989 and for eight years prior worked as Associate Executive Director of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education in Washington, D.C. She holds a doctorate from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Jeffrey Davitt ‘07
Assistant Director of Development
Jeff graduated with a sport management and business administration degree, coordinated part of the volunteer effort for Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville (2005), and then worked in the community relations office of the Miami Dolphins. He returned to Flagler College in 2008 to coordinate the annual giving initiative and in 2012 he was promoted to a Development Officer. Jeff earned a MBA degree from the University of North Florida in 2012 and currently serves on the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, First Coast Chapter. Jeff recently became a certified fundraising executive (CFRE) in 2013.
Kristy Kurowski ‘12
Assistant Director of Annual Giving
As a 2012 graduate of Flagler College, Kristy earned her degree in Communication (public relations) with minors in Business Administration and Advertising. Kristy previously worked in the Institutional Advancement office as a part of the Phonathon team during her years as a Flagler College student. She was also heavily involved with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, The Dow Advantage PR Group and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) on campus. She returned to our office in 2014 with sales and fundraising experience. She is looking forward to working with students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters to help grow the Flagler Fund and more opportunities for students to experience her alma mater.
Annual Giving Officer
Upon relocating from Colorado Springs, CO Jessie joined the Office of Institutional Advancement team in October 2016. Jessie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Colorado College, and previously worked on her alma mater’s Annual Giving staff for one year before moving to Florida. At Colorado College she was heavily involved with young alumni giving and the student phonathon program. She is looking forward to growing the Flagler Fund and working with Flagler students to increase awareness of the importance of philanthropy.

A Florida native, Janette Vega received an undergraduate degree in business administration in 1992 from the University of West Alabama (formerly Livingston University), and completed graduate coursework at the University of Illinois Springfield. During an internship at the Art Institute of Chicago, Janette discovered her passion for fundraising and began work with their annual fund and membership efforts. She continued her career at the University of North Florida as Development Officer in the College of Computing, Engineering and Construction. Most recently, Janette was the Director of Development at University of Florida and UF Health Jacksonville. She joined the Flagler team as Senior Development Officer in August 2014, bringing with her 20 years of development experience. Janette is proud to stand behind the standard of excellence that is provided at Flagler College.
Mary Jamieson Dee
A prospect research professional with 15 years of experience, Mary began her development career as a proposal writer and prospect researcher at Florida State University. She later directed the prospect management and research department at the University of North Florida and most recently worked as a prospect strategy analyst at the University of Florida.
A past president of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement’s Florida chapter, Mary served on APRA’s Connections editorial committee and has presented on prospect research ethics as well as on prospect management.
Mary holds a holds a master’s degree in English from Ball State University and joined the Flagler College team in 2016.

Margo Thomas ‘06
Director of Alumni Relations
During Margo’s time as a Flagler student, she was captain of the women’s golf team for two years and MVP for three years as well as outstanding English student. Originally hired as part of the Annual Giving staff in 2006, Margo joined the Alumni Relations effort in 2008 as Assistant Director and in 2010 assumed the Director role. Margo is currently working towards a master’s degree in English from Middlebury College.
Kerri Carlyon '02
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations
Kerri graduated from Flagler with a degree in business administration and in communication. After graduation, she worked for six years at The St. Augustine Record as an Advertising Account Executive. In January of 2012, she returned to her alma mater to assume the role of Research and Stewardship Manager in the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Jay Kelly ‘12
A 2012 graduate of Flagler College, Jay earned degrees in English and philosophy. He initially worked with the Office of Institutional Advancement through Flagler's work study grant during his three-year enrollment at the College and joined our department in 2013.
Manager of Gift Administration
Alayne joined the Office of Institutional advancement in March 2015 after relocating from Baltimore, MD. Prior to landing in St. Augustine, she spent two years traveling and volunteering with several organizations across the United States. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration - Accounting from the University of Baltimore and previously worked with Johns Hopkins Health System as a Staff Accountant.
Jody joined the department in January 2016 after moving to St. Augustine from Oklahoma. Prior to moving to Florida, she worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Academic Deans of Western Oklahoma State College; was the event coordinator for the Oklahoma River Cruises; owned/managed Gelato & More in Las Vegas; and was the Systems Analyst at Sun Oil Co. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with minors in Computer Information Systems and Management. She is grateful to be part of such a great team and an amazing college.
