Faculty–led study abroad programs, offered through Flagler College, are a wonderful opportunity to gain significant international experience while enrolled in Flagler courses. Flagler faculty programs usually range from one to four weeks, with most occurring in the summer, and offer credit for one or two courses. During the Summer 2013 our faculty went to Costa Rica for 4 weeks learning the Spanish language and worked at an archeological site, ten days in Italy admiring the marvelous art work and studying religion while visiting the Vatican. Additionally, to have a better understanding of history, a faculty member took the students to Vietnam to recreating a convincing atmosphere of Vietnam war period. The political science course this summer studied in Russia for 10 days, and finally our science department decided to undertake a field course in the Bahamas islands, making the students experience the wonderful secrets of the ocean.
