Office of Student Success & Advising

Advisement plays an important role in guiding the student through his or her educational experience at Flagler.  Full-time faculty serve as advisors to students who are usually majoring in the advisor’s field of study.  The major responsibilities of the advisor are:

  • To assist students in planning their education program
  • Selecting specific courses to satisfy degree requirements
  • Clarifying procedures
  • Responding to questions and concerns
  • Promote advisement on as a continuous process

It is the student’s responsibility to plan and carry out a program of study in accordance with departmental requirements. To help with academic planning, we have provided lists of requirements for each major and minor. Specific requirements will be based on the year in which the student entered Flagler. Please refer to the top of each sheet for the effective years of the requirements.

While working with faculty advisors, the Office of Student Success & Advising also handles:

  • Change of major and minors
  • Advising for undeclared majors
  • Help with academic planning
  • General Education questions
  • Advising for Add/Drop
  • Review of major requirements
  • Academic probation meetings
  • Transfer student advising.
