CAB is responsible for planning a variety of events that enhance the college experience through social, recreational, and cultural activities. Activities include game shows, pool parties, inflatable rides, open mic nights, karaoke, comedians, hypnotists, and numerous other activities and events.
Students were bused to and from Universal Studios. They had access to many rides and a plethora of different haunted houses. Students shrieked with delight through all of the scare zones.
Want a fun way to get to know St. Augustine? CAB took students on a high-energy, interactive, timed scavenger hunt all around the city. It was a great way to make new friends as well work on your clue solving. Prizes were given to the winning team.
This was a wonderful event to step outside of your comfort zone. Students were allowed to sign up for whatever song they wanted. Speakers were set up, along with a stage, right in the center of Kenan Plaza. Prizes were handed out to the first five brave souls!
CAB tries to bring in at least one comedian per year if not one per semester. It was well attended in the fall and we are hoping to bring in another comedian and have an even more successful event.
A great way to let off some steam and get in touch with your inner teenager. Our Man Hunt was a mix between tag and a neon silly string fight. We encouraged students to come out and meet new people while running off some stress and trying to dodge the silly string. It was one of our biggest weekday events attended to date.
What gets over 350 college students into one room within ten minutes? Midnight Breakfast at Flagler College does. Students came out dressed for Halloween and ready to dance. Green Screen photos were almost as big of a hit as the yummy breakfast food. The best part is that it was FREE for students!
This event drew a large crowd. Students filled the West Lawn as their peers played ten minute sets competing for studio recording time and music gift cards. Glow sticks were provided to help everyone rock out!
The hypnotist was favorite performer of last semester. He came and hypnotized over 20 students for the entertainment of about sixty other students. He made sure they were in a safe environment that was geared towards fun and a good time.
This day is a favorite of many of our students. One day during the week before finals, the West Lawn is transformed into a playground for college students. We have an obstacle course, oversized boxing gloves, and a jousting station. Comfort foods, toys, and massages were also given out to try and help students unwind before the stressful week of finals encloses upon them.
If you are interested in getting involved with CAB their meetings are on Thursday nights at 8:30 p.m. in Ringhaver Student Center, Room 201.
