  1. Review the General Education requirements. Refer to the General Education Program link.

  2. Review the course requirements for your intended major listed in the Flagler College Catalog. The Flagler College Catalog is available online at www.flagler.edu.

  3. Freshmen and Transfer Students who have completed Advanced Placement (AP) testing, International Baccalaureate (IB) testing, AICE examinations and/or College Level Examination Program (CLEP – General Examinations only) must have the score reports sent to the Flagler College Office of Admissions for evaluation. No credit will be awarded for CLEP Subject Examinations.

  4. Freshmen and Transfer Students who have completed college coursework and received a grade of "C" (2.0) or better should not select courses that would duplicate courses already taken. You must have a final official transcript sent from the previous college(s) attended. Credit for Dual Enrollment courses cannot be awarded from a high school transcript.

  5. Freshmen and Transfer Students should contact their advisor in order to confirm courses accepted by Flagler College. This would prevent duplication of courses.

  6. Choose a Learning Community Cluster (required of all incoming freshmen).

  7. In addition to a Learning Community Cluster, freshmen course selections should include ENG 152 (required of all freshmen without ENG152 Dual Enrollment, CLEP, AP, IB, or AICE credit). It is also recommended that you include one course in Mathematics.

For the remainder of your schedule, you should choose courses from the General Education Program. For example, you may choose a course from Foundations of Knowledge, Creative Expressions, and/or Ways of Knowing. Your final course can be COM 101, an additional General Education course or one entry level course in your major. COM 101 can be taken during the fall or spring.

Review with your advisor four – six alternate course selections. Remember to not duplicate your primary course selections with your alternate course selections. In the event a primary course section is full, you will need an appropriate alternate course.

  8. During the summer major and/or minor changes will be made in the Office of the Registrar. Students will send an email to registrar@flagler.edu and copy their advisor with the change.
