Faces and Places of St. AugustineI am new at Flagler College. I am new in my position. However, I am not new to St. Augustine, the wedding industry here or the excitement of a St. Augustine bride-to-be. I, too, was married here in our magical city we call home. Now, I get to help brides make their fairy tale wedding a reality by hosting them and their guests at Flagler College’s spectacular venues as part of the Ponce de Leon Weddings program.  Nowhere else in town can you experience the grandeur of the Gilded Age quite like you can here. Kate GardinerThe key to having gorgeous, Pintrest-pinable portraits of you and honey is time and planning. Most of my couples choose to get married in St. Augustine because of its history or because of fond memories they have as a kid coming to the Ancient City on a field trip or with their family. They remember the red tiled buildings, the Bridge of Lions, the Castillo de San Marcos and the horse drawn carriages.

Every year Flagler College hosts a gala in the ballroom on New Year’s Eve. I had the pleasure of helping plan this year. What an incredible learning experience.  This year’s theme was The Roaring ‘20’s – one of my favorites!

In my day to day life I don’t wear a lot of color. I opt for staple pieces in neutral colors – blacks, whites, tans, creams – and then accent with a single splash of color. However, when it comes to weddings, I view color a little differently. I love seeing fun, vibrant color everywhere with small subtleties of neutrals.
