The
Flagler College womenís
tennis team beat visiting Xavier
University in a 6-3 decision.
The lady Saints improved to
6-1 on the season and a No.
5 national ranking.
In
the No. 1 doubles match, Charlotte
Sikora and Meredith Fish pulled
out a victory in their close
match 9-8. No. 2 and No. 3
doubles players Laurie Molter
and Franci Scherr and Holly
Gambill and Amy Lands all won
their matches.
Sikora,
the No. 1 in singles, dominated
her match set 6-2, 6-2. Fish
won the No. 2 spot in singles
6-2, 6-3. Freshmen Gambill
and Lands pulled out wins in
the No. 5 and No. 6 singles
spots.

College 5 - Eastern Kentucky
University 4
The
lady Saints kept up their winning
ways against a tough visiting
Eastern Kentucky University.
Flagler won the contest by
a 5-4 decision. The lady Saints
improved to 7-1 overall.
Charlotte
Sikora and Meredith Fish defeated
Herrera and Roof at the No.
1 doubles spot, 8-5. At the
No. 2 spot Laurie Molter and
Franci Scherr were also victorious
with their 8-4 win. At the
No. 3 doubles spot Flagler
lost in an 8-3 decision.
In
singles Sikora at the No. 1
spot won in a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
Sophomore Fish also won her
contest 6-0, 6-1. At the No.
5 singles spot freshman Holly
Gambill was victorious, winning
6-3, 7-6.

College 1 - Appalachian State

The
Flagler College womenís
tennis team played at home
March 11 against Division I
Appalachian State and fell
to them 1-6. The only win the
lady Saints had was at the
No. 1 singles spot by Charlotte
Sikora. Flagler fell to 7-2
overall on the season.

Flagler
College womenís
tennis team walked all over
visiting Dillard University
9-0 at home March 12. The lady
Saints are currently ranked
No. 5 in the nation and have
an overall record of 8-2.

College 9 - SCAD 2
The
lady Saints womenís
tennis team beat visiting Savannah
College of Art and Design 6-0
on March 15. With the win Flagler
improved to 9-2 overall and
still held the No. 5 spot in
the nation's top 25 poll.

College 6 - Shorter College 3
The
Flagler College womenís
tennis team held onto their
winning streak, defeating visiting
Shorter College on March 18.
The lady Saints won the contest
6-3. Charlotte Sikora and Meredith
Fish won at the No. 1 doubles
8-6. The freshman duo of Lane
Alenious and Holly Gambill
dominated the No. 3 spot winning
8-0.
In
singles the Nos. 1, 2, 5 and
6 all won their matches. Flagler
is now 10-2 overall and holds
the No. 5 ranking in the country.

College 2 - Rollins College 7
Division
II Rollins College pulled out
the big win against Flagler
College on March 31. The lady
Saints lost the contest 2-7.
Charlotte Sikora and Meredith
Fish were the only winners
in doubles, 9-7. Lane Alenious,
No. 6 in singles, was the only
winner, scoring 6-1, 6-2.
With
the loss, Flagler falls to
10-3 on the season and still
holds the No. 5 national ranking.

College 9 - Florida Institute
of Technology 0
The
Flagler College women’s
tennis team rolled all over
visiting Florida Institute
of Technology 9-0. The lady
Saints won every single match
in doubles and singles. In
doubles the No. 1, 2 and 3
teams won all their victories
by an 8-1 margin. The team
improves to 11-3 overall.

College 0 - Northwood University
2
The
womenís
tennis team, in its last regular
season game of the year, suffered
a rare loss against Northwood
University in Orlando, losing
0-6. In doubles, the tandem
of Charlotte Sikora and Meredith
Fish barely lost, 6-8, and
in the No. 2 doubles, Franci
Scherr and Laurie Molter also
lost a close one by the same
score.
In
singles the Nos. 4, 5 and 6
spots did not finish. The team
stands at 11-4 overall.

College 5 - Springhill College
4
The
lady Saints narrowly defeated
Springhill College 5-4. In
doubles the Nos. 1, 2 and 3
pairs for Flagler all won their
matches. In singles the Nos.
1 and 2 players, Charlotte
Sacra and Meredith Fish, won
their matches 6-1, 6-0 and
6-0, 6-0. The lady Saints improved
to 12-4 on the season.

College 6 - Columbia College
0
The
lady Saints pulled out a big
victory over Columbia College
in the quarter-final match
of Regional play. Flagler College
won 6-0 and goes on to play
in the semi-finals against
Embry-Riddle University. In
singles the Nos. 1, 2 and 3
players all won their matches
6-0, 6-0. The lady Saints improve
to 13-4 on the season and look
to be crowned Regional Champions.
